Healthcare Technology and News: Electronic Medical Record Systems Market in North America to Exceed $5.4 Billion by 2015

According to a newly released report by Global Industry Analysts Inc. “GIA,”  the market for electronic medical record systems in North America is expected to exceed $5.4 Billion by 2015.

The report, “Electronic Medical Record Systems: A North American and European Market Report," provides an extensive review of the industry, product overview, product introductions/innovations, profiles of key players, and latest industry activity as well as analyzes market data and analytics in terms of value sales for regions including North America and Europe.

Healthcare information technology has gained attention in recent years as a way to  lower medical errors, provide transparent modes for reimbursement procedures, decrease costs, and revolutionize the healthcare delivery system.

There are abundant opportunities in less-penetrated markets such as physician practices and inpatient centers that continue to adopt Electronic Medical Records and digitize relevant areas.

The report found that while operating costs are high and continue to increase, providers are resizing their portfolios for a better positioning in the future.

North America and Europe rule the global electronic medical record “EMR” systems market.

Main factors that contribute to the adoption of EMR systems are effective management of medication processes, considerable clinical improvement, minimization of staff, and extraction of detailed data.
