Many patients are becoming eligible for higher deductibles and co-payments through insurance plans and others. This makes it difficult fro physicians to realize the patient’s part of the medical payment due to them. Advancements in technology are making it easier for physicians to collect their dues in a timely manner besides making the payment process simpler for patients also, said company sources.

 

The A-Claim medical payment solution from Preferred Health Technology helps physicians and other healthcare providers to increase collections and reduce costs by verifying insurance eligibility, adjusting claims and processing credit, debit and prepaid cards and checks for payment. This can be done at the time of service, before a patient leaves the hospital or office.

 

The simple process just involves swiping of the insurance card at the time of service. The medical practitioner or hospital will receive a detailed response almost immediately. The response will include details like insurance eligibility verification with major insurance companies, patient payment responsibility, in-network and out-of-network information, co-payment amounts, annual deductible information and others. Patients can then swipe their credit card, debit card or give a check to settle their part of the payment.
