Healthcare Technology and News: MedFlash Enhanced By Improved AllOne Mobile Cell Phone Application

AllOne Health and Connectyx Technologies Holdings Group recently announced that they would be forging a strategic partnership to better enable their consumers to track their health information on the web. This will be done with the help of mobile USB devices and cell phones in an integrated and secure step. This will be sold as a package in retail locations across the nation by December 2009.

A mobile phone application has been designed by AllOne Health called AllOne Mobile for which safeguards have been provided by Diversinet Corp. This application is capable of updating the personal medical and insurance data with the flick of a finger. The data will be distributed using MedFlash, which has been developed by Connectyx.

MedFlash acts as a virtual repository of personal medical and lifestyle data on a mobile flash device and in a web based format. Users can also keep track of and regularly update their information using the flash drive which can be worn as a bracelet or as a keychain. This also allows users to share medical information with dependable health care professionals using his cell phone.

Using the AllOne Mobile capability users can forward a child’s allergy medication instructions to his school medical staff. An ailing parent’s prescription can be communicated to the first responder. Users can also gain entry to his partner’s medical history in case of an exigency.

While on the move, users can use the technology to secure insurance coverage at short notice. Other instances when such a device can prove indispensable is to check on past and active prescriptions and medical information, to transmit an image of their insurance card to their attending physician, to keep track of their child’s immunization details, to maintain a list of people who could be contacted in case of an emergency, to alert them in case of an upcoming doctor’s appointment and also to receive customized tips on managing chronic medical conditions, among others.

For the first time, AllOne Mobile can be purchased in retail locations, including pharmacies and grocery stores like Harris Teeter, Kroger and Walgreens and online retailers like Drugstore.com. Microsoft Health Vault already offers the product along with the AllOne Mobile consumer site.

Microsoft Health Vault is a web-based personal medical record which provides accessibility for consumers to health applications including the AllOne Mobile and also to other appliances that assist in administering chronic medical conditions like blood pressure, blood glucose, heart rate and weight monitors.

AllOne Mobile is also being offered as part of health plans and sold to employers and other group purchasers. Recently the company signed a deal with Significa Benefit Services to service 42,000 users. Over 10,000 army service personnel with traumatic brain injuries are also being assisted with the help of this product.

The MedFlash program is currently being retailed with Associated Pharmacies Incorporated which is a buying co-operative composed of more than 1000 independent pharmacies in 40 states. Cardinal Healthcare and AmerisourceBergen distribute the product in over 2200 retail locations.
