Perot Systems Announces Strategic Alliance with China Telecom

Perot Systems, a worldwide provider of information technology services and business systems, has formed a strategic alliance with China Telecommunications Corporation (News - Alert)


As per the pact the two companies intend to work together to deliver enhanced IT solutions for the healthcare industry in China. 

“Perot Systems and China Telecom (News - Alert) have agreed to develop and go to market with an e-health platform and IT services that support the advancement of healthcare across China," Peter Altabef, president and CEO, Perot Systems, said.

Altabef said that the company appreciates the close relationship it has developed with China Telecom over the past two years and look forward to a productive collaboration that benefits both healthcare providers and consumers.

Perot Systems plans to provide a variety of consulting, management, supervision, implementation, and technical services, while China Telecom delivers essential network resources and support.

“By combining our leading-edge technology, data-center methodology, and deep industry knowledge with China Telecom's network and data-center operations, the companies can create and deliver transformational IT solutions to healthcare providers,” Chuck Lyles, president of the Perot Systems Healthcare group, said.

Shang Bing, president China Telecom, said that the company values its relationship with Perot Systems, and this agreement is an important milestone to contribute to healthcare reform in China. 

Recently, Perot Systems Corp. (News - Alert) had announced that its Fairfax, Virginia-based Government Services Division has won a new task order with the executive office of the President's Office of Management and Budget worth over $16 million for four years if all options are exercised to provide a broad range of information technology services. 

Perot Systems has been supporting the OMB since June 2003. 

Perot Systems will continue to provide OMB with a broad range of information technology services including desktop and web application development, database administration, Unix Systems administration, project management and planning, reporting and data analysis.
