Librestream's Onsight Mobile Solution Helps RIVA Systems
Librestream has announced that Intelligent Hospital Systems (IH Systems) procured its mobile Onsight Collaboration System (OCS), which is pictured below, to accelerate the installation procedure and assist in supervising live, remote maintenance support of their Robotic Intra Venous (IV) Automation (RIVA) systems at hospital sites across North America.
“Without the live interaction that Onsight provides, we would have to send an engineer to the customer site," said Alex Reinhardt, Director of Customer Service at IH Systems. “Not only does that add cost, but it delays our ability to service our customers. As a result, we have made the decision to include an Onsight mobile device with every RIVA system we implement. It is that strategic to us."
Company officials claim that since the RIVA weighs 6,000 pounds it has to be installed, maintained and serviced only at the hospital’s premises, and also because it rapidly and hygienically automates life saving IV syringe and bottle preparation, it therefore becomes imperative that any rectification or preventive maintenance be carried without any kind of delay.
The company claims that its solution helps field trained technicians to hook up with RIVA specialists, engineers and consultants, irrespective of geography, and provide live video and instant media interactive sessions to either smoothly install a RIVA system or immediately solve any problem.
"IH Systems is truly an innovative company and one that recognizes the value of immediately bringing internal experts into challenging situations," said Kerry Thacher, Chief Executive Officer of Librestream. "We are pleased that IH Systems chose Onsight and Librestream to help deliver an impressive level of customer service. We look forward to our continuing relationship as they deploy more RIVA systems around the world."
![]() As TMCnet has earlier reported, Librestream’s first OCS was recently sold to a customer with operations in Mexico to prevent travel there since governments are advising against travel to that country because of the danger of getting infected by the H1N1 ‘swine flu’ virus.
The OCS includes the Onsight 1000, says TMCnet’s report, that is powered by the Onsight Mobile collaboration software, is designed for indoor or light industrial settings, has one way secure video streaming from the field, dual direction audio and screen markup, and helps staff to share, ideate and settle issues in real time.
It also includes the Onsight Expert for desktops of remote consultants, continues TMCnet’s report, and this feature combines best with the Onsight 1000 and instantly delivers video streams on request, allows on screen drawing, zooms to ten times, freezes frames, and improves illumination.
"We experience the benefits of using Onsight almost daily," said Reinhardt. “The ability to talk and draw onscreen while viewing live video from the customer site is essential to us.
By way of comparison, TMCnet has earlier reported about a similar product line that provides High Definition Video Communication, compact disc sound quality to devices that are ultimately connected to Internet such as Wi-Fi Access Points (WAP’s), WiMAX (News - Alert) and Wi-Fi routers, satellite transponders, and assorted antennas, and supports high speed wireless technologies such as IEEE 802.11n, Bluetooth for proximity access, AVC HD for audio video camera-captured high definition recording, SIP and H.323 for IP-based multimedia communication. It uses a combination of Laser engineered solutions with an orientation sensor designed using micro electro mechanical systems.
