Healthcare Technology and News: Enhanced Flow Meter Visualization Launched by Spacelabs Healthcare

Enhanced Flow Meter Visualization has been launched by Spacelabs Healthcare on its BleaseSirius Anesthesia System. The company has received FDA 510k clearance for the same. An announcement in this regard has been made by the international developer, manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment and services, Spacelabs Healthcare.

Anesthesia delivery practice requires quick and easy identification of key information. It is also important to be able to record and retrieve this data. Clinicians have retained the current “touch & feel” method they are accustomed to for the traditional flow control for the Electronic Gas Flow Measurements.

3D flow tubes along with numerics are used to display the exact digital readout for each individual gas creating an easy to read format. At the same position where clinicians would find traditional flow tubes, the dedicated display has been placed, so the fresh gas flow to a patient can be instantly known by clinicians. A patient monitoring system or electronic medical record can also immediately import this data.

In a release, Nicholas Ong who is the group president of Spacelabs Healthcare said, “Spacelabs Anesthesia Systems, including the new BleaseSirius, incorporate the latest technology offering clinicians unparalleled performance in ventilation and vaporization. Focusing on the patient and clinician to machine relationship has allowed us to offer clinicians integrated technology, reduced cost of ownership and clinical ease of use.”

Spacelabs Healthcare is a wholly owned subsidiary of OSI Systems. Services of include solutions for patient monitoring and connectivity, anesthesia delivery and ventilation and diagnostic cardiology. Hospitals, clinics and physician offices are also sold accessories and supplies by Spacelabs Healthcare.
