Healthcare Technology and News: Arkansas REC selects market leader eClinicalWorks as a Preferred Vendor

EclinicalWorks a market leader in ambulatory clinical systems and an award winning Electronic Health Records (EHR) company recently announced that it had been selected by HITArkansas as a preferred vendor.

HITArkansas, a division of Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC), is the federally designated Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (HITREC) for Arkansas and works in cooperation with the office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) to support, offer technical assistance, outreach and collaboration to health care providers across the state.

As a partner, eClinicalWorks will provide comprehensive services to help Arkansas providers demonstrate meaningful use of these EHRs. Earlier this month, the company was also chosen by the California Health Information Partnership and Services Organizations (CalHIPSO) as a first round Electronic Health Record (EHR) Partner for its primary care providers.

Ray Hanley, President and CEO of AFMC commented, “We believe that eClinicalWorks’ range of comprehensive EHR solutions will allow our state’s health care providers who adopt those solutions to offer more efficient, faster and more cost-effective care to patients throughout Arkansas.”

“eClinicalWorks is well-known for successfully deploying a comprehensive EHR solution. We work closely with our customers and partners to provide them with the tools and education required to demonstrate meaningful use. We are pleased to be working with HITArkansas and its providers,” said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks.

Recently, Arkansas REC also selected  SuccessEHS, a nationally recognized, streamlined practice management and electronic health record (EHR / EMR) provider as a preferred software vendor, in accordance with government health care initiatives. RECs were created under the Health Information Technology Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Under the HITECH Act, $67 million is allocated during the next two years to support a nationwide system of RECs.
