A five-year, comprehensive information technology outsourcing contract has been signed by CareTech Solutions with San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center.
An announcement in this regard was made by provider of information technology, Web products and services to over 150 U.S. hospitals, CareTech Solutions. San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center, or SLVRMC, is a 57-bed regional medical center and level IV trauma center.
In a release, Russ Johnson, CEO, SLVRMC said, "In an effort to achieve Meaningful use and develop a culture of using information to enhance patient care, we knew we needed to look beyond our four walls for the IT expertise and bench strength that would get us over the goal line."
Johnson added that the organization had received high recommendations for CareTech Solutions. CareTech is both the strategic resource and operational powerhouse the organization wanted in their health IT partner.
IT infrastructure and application management are included in CareTech's full outsourcing contract with San Luis Valley. Strategic planning, performance measurement, problem solving, testing and resolution are included in application management.
The full outsourcing contract of CareTech also includes network and server monitoring, and a healthcare-specific helpdesk with clinician support available 24/7/365. CareTech Solutions has also employed the current hospital IT staff of seven. The hospital IT staff will therefore have greater access to technical training and development opportunities.
SLVRMC is the largest and most comprehensive health care provider in the San Luis Valley. Located in Alamosa, Colo., SLVRMC serves six rural counties with a population of more than 45,000.
General and specialized care in Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics is provided by a staff of more than 40 physicians and allied health professionals. General and specialized care in Obstetrics/Gynecology, Occupational Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehab, and Behavioral Health is also provided.
