According to a recent press release, Nomadix, Inc. has settled the patent infringement cases brought by the company against LodgeNet Interactive Corp. and its affiliates before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and by LodgeNet Interactive Corp. against Nomadix before the U.S. District Court of South Dakota.
"We are pleased to enter into this agreement with LodgeNet and to put an end to the litigation between our companies," said Charles Reed, chairman of Nomadix. "We are excited to partner with LodgeNet and believe that the value of our intellectual property and LodgeNet's diversified customer base in the Hospitality industry will benefit both our companies and the hotel guests who will enjoy the high quality of our internet access technologies. While Nomadix will continue to pursue enforcement of its patent portfolio in litigation against other competitors, it is reassuring as a pioneer and innovator in the internet access area that LodgeNet values our intellectual property and is actively partnering with us to enhance the products and services we can jointly bring to the market."
The agreements between the two companies include a broad license to LodgeNet and its affiliates under Nomadix' extensive patent portfolio in internet access technologies. Both the parties declined to disclose the terms of the agreements, Nomadix indicated that the agreements provide a framework for a higher level of cooperation between the two companies going forward.
