Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of integrated telecommunications solutions for businesses, announced the launch of IntegraFit across the entire company.
According to company sources IntegraFit is a new comprehensive health and wellness program, which encompasses tools and resources that empower employees to manage their overall health and well-being. They can do this irrespective of the changes that occur in the healthcare industry. The program also features the IntegraFit Wellness Portal that can be accessed via the corporate Intranet site. This portal offers tips on tackling physical, emotional and financial issues.
In a press release, Dudley Slater, CEO of Integra Telecom, commented, “At Integra, our employees are our most valuable resource, and we want each individual to have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.”
“By providing a resource that encourages employees to take a proactive role in managing issues that can affect their health and well-being – from fitness and nutrition to mental health and financial stability – we hope we can reduce stress and anxiety and promote an overall happier, healthier and more productive workforce,” Slater added.
The IntegraFit program encourages each employee about how to take care of oneself. They are educated on various aspects of how to lead a healthy lifestyle. The IntegraFit Wellness Portal comprises of four distinct areas with clear purposes including Strong and Fit which offers guidance for initiating and maintaining good physical fitness; Healthy Eating which incorporates tools and information for optimal nutrition.
It also includes Inner Harmony with resources for reducing stress and attaining better work/life balance and the Financially Secure program for advising on managing finances and planning for a secure future, said company sources.
The IntegraFit Wellness Portal helps employees to access in-depth articles on health and wellness topics, and also benefit from quick and easy tips for making gradual lifestyle changes. Various calculators and widgets serve as tools to find key information and data, and a library of healthy recipes provides guidance in improving nutrition.
Integra officials added that IntegraFit will provide employees with several opportunities to improve their health and their knowledge of related topics. It offers smoking cessation programs, weight loss programs, reduced rates to fitness clubs, coordination of employee sports teams and facilitated brown-bag lunches on topics of interest.
Employee Assistance Program Resource Center is a part of IntegraFit which provides employees with additional resources to address emotional and physical health issues.
