Anokimobi, the UK product company behind a number of eco-friendly and phone accessories, has unveiled their new iPhone4 ecoskin, a case made of recycled plastic that is loaded with silver ions to reduce bacteria levels on mobile phones.

athenahealth, Inc., a provider of Internet-based business services for physician practices, recently announced that Massachusetts e-Health Institute (MeHI), the state-designated entity for health care innovation, technology and competitiveness, has chosen athenahealth as a preferred EHR solution partner.

St. Jude Medical has entered into an agreement with Arcapita, to purchase 19 percent of their share in CardioMEMS for $60 million. Further, there will be an option for St. Jude to purchase the remaining 71 percent holding for $375 million, in the near future. Arcapita is a global investment bank, and CardioMEMS is part of its Venture Capital portfolio. Arcapita acts as the lead investor in companies operating in the healthcare, information technology, and industrial technology sectors.

Zarlink Semiconductor announced that global medical device manufacturers are designing its new ultra low-power wireless radio platform into a broad range of in-body communication systems. Customers value Zarlink's ultra low-power radio technology, application support and quality expertise as they design wireless medical products supporting innovative monitoring, diagnostic and therapeutic applications to improve patient care and reduce healthcare costs. Zarlink's medical radio chips are the industry's only products designed exclusively to operate in the MICS 402-405 MHz frequency band.

Velaris, a provider of Business Intelligence or “BI” consulting services for commercial, government, and higher education clients, provided a “Health Check” assessment to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute or “RPI”, a technological university operating an undergraduate and graduate residential campus in Troy.

A top pharmaceutical company has selected Veeva Systems’ multi-tenant SaaS (News - Alert) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution.

Healthcare data abstraction and analytics company Outcomes Health Information Solutions has appointed David Jeans as its new Vice President of Data Management and Chief Enterprise Architect.
